Heat Gun Model VT-1100VG is an economical, multi-purpose heat gun, specifically designed for the ideal requirements for shrinking vinyl. The electronic variable thermal control dial is an important feature which allows the user to select the exact temperature needed.

Application Tips & Tricks
- Cut a length of vinyl 8” longer than the flagstick or rake handle. Hold the pole vertically and slide the vinyl over the shaft, pushing the material down, as close as possible, to the ferrule or rake head at the bottom end.
* You may lightly spray the bunker rake handle with 3M Super 77 Multipurpose Adhesive before quickly sliding on the vinyl, to ensure long-term non-slip adherence. - Using a heat gun, begin by applying heat to the very bottom of the flagstick or rake
handle.
- Hold the heat gun about four inches away from the material, to prevent burning.
- During the entire process, continuously turn the flagstick or rake handle around and around while moving the heat gun back and forth.
- Holding the heat gun in one hand, push the vinyl downwards with the other hand, continually pressing the vinyl against the ferrule or rake head until it shrinks to form a snug fit.
- Slowly begin shrinking your way up the shaft, continuously turning the pole around and around while moving the heat gun back and forth, until the entire length of vinyl has completely shrunk and snugly conforms to the flagstick or rake handle.
- For square stakes, begin by aiming the heat at the center of the stake, directing the heat from the center outwards towards both ends, continuously turning the stake around and around while moving the heat gun back and forth.
- When changing the color of a flagstick from a darker color to a lighter color, first shrink white VinylGuard over the flagstick. Then shrink the new color over the white ensuring complete coverage.
- With a sharp blade or utility knife, trim the excess material and apply a little heat.
Note: Open flame sources of heat are not recommended for shrinking as they may burn or damage the vinyl and may not ensure uniform shrinking. It is not necessary to use the heat gun deflector.
